Southern Movement converges in Selma!
The Southern Movement Assembly partners converge in Selma this weekend, March 7-9, 2015 to recognize that the fight for voting rights is a fight for political power. We recognize the danger and strength of claiming our political power in a moment when institutions are telling us that murder, disenfranchisement, and economic displacement are allowable, legitimate, and justifiable.
Our international delegation of over 50 people from 15 organizations and 6 Southern states represents Black communities, youth, elders, families, Muslim & Latino immigrants, LGBTQ communities, and formerly incarcerated people.

YOUTH BAM! March 28 from 10 AM- 4PM
Free to the public, lunch included & membership donations accepted!
The March BAM is dedicated to Project South’s current youth campaign and will be facilitated by youth leaders from the Youth Community Action Program (YCAP).
The 10 Mil 4 Real campaign(#10M4R) seeks to bring community awareness about funds in our Atlanta Public Schools dedicated to policing our youth and confront the brutality that youth face in schools on a daily basis. Over 10 million dollars are pumped into Atlanta Public Schools to increase police presence, with the intent to increase safety. However, our youth are being beaten, tazed, and terrorized everyday by these same police officers for small time school offenses.
Join us at the March 28th BAM to learn more about the campaign, sharpen your oragnizing skills, and build relationships with other youth! Contact join@ prjs.palantetech.coop for more information.
“The BAM was exactly what I needed. I was looking for more skills, and I found them!” – BAM Participant, January 31st
