Board of Directors

Brenda Hyde is Assistant Director with Southern Echo in Jackson, MS and brings decades of organizing work and institution-building in the Deep South. She has trained hundreds of organizers and managed the training and technical assistance components of two foundation-funded intermediate support programs for community organizations in eight states in the southern region.

Seth Markle is a senior professor and researcher with a background in organizing, youth work and movement building. Seth was a leader in the Nia Project, a youth organization that has informed the work of Project South youth programs over the last 15 years. 

Carolyn Pittman is the Vice Chair and is the Director at the Hunger Coalition of Atlanta, founded the Georgia Human Rights Union, and represents generations of families who grew up in South Atlanta.
